Hide Thumbnail Photo on Blog Page

Hi,
I’d like to use thumbnails for my blog posts so that they are visible on the category pages.
However, I don’t want them appearing on the blog page or post page (because they are redundant pictures).
Changing the setting for “detail media options” to “none” removes the redundant photo from the post page but not from the main blog page.
Is there some custom CSS that can help me with this problem?

The home page is the blog page. The thumbnail photo appears above the title/series of photos of the first post. I have not added thumbnails to the other posts. I would like the thumbnail photo to only appear on the category or tag posts. Here is is redundant on the home page and on the individual post page.
