Hello
For some reason I can’t log in to the theme through wordpress using my password, no problem I thought I will just reset it, but I can’t!
When I click “lost password” link it takes me to a 404 page saying “this page does not exist”
How can I regain access to my site??
Thanks!
March 11, 2014 at 10:35 am #56347Hi
As this is not a theme issue we can’t really support for it, you will have to change the password through the database, however the forgot password link on the login page should work.

March 11, 2014 at 10:36 am #56348I found an old “change your password” link and that worked – but how can I set it up so the lost password link WILL work next time I forget my password???
Thanks
March 11, 2014 at 10:38 am #56350Hi
Pretty sure it should work, not sure why it wouldn’t. Like I said this is not a theme issue.

March 11, 2014 at 10:38 am #56351Hi Kyle
Is it not a “theme” issue, if when you select “lost password” that link doesn’t work and sends you to another page???
Just wondering as its a bit of a worry that I can’t just “reset” without this old link?
Cheers!

March 11, 2014 at 10:41 am #56353p.s bit cheeky I know but I am also needing to reset the page that is my “homepage” if you like – at the moment it shows this:
http://www.hilltribe.tv/Hilltribe2014/
And I want to show another page I have made……
Thanks!
March 11, 2014 at 10:42 am #56354OH yeah – and here’s the page for the error:
http://www.hilltribe.tv/Hilltribe2014/wp-login.php
(email crossover going on!)
thanks!
March 11, 2014 at 10:49 am #56356Hi
The paths for your pages are all wrong, looks like you’ve edited the page url in a way that you shouldn’t have. This is why it’s not finding the pages. To set your home page you do it in reading settings, looks like you have changed your website url.

March 11, 2014 at 2:47 pm #56450Hi Kyle
Hmmm not sure how i’ve done that? I put this wordpress install into a new folder under my other website url (www.hilltribe.tv) so that I can get this new version right and then point http://www.hilltribe.tv to the new folder – but I may be doing this ALLLLLLL wrong, I just trial and error really….gulp!
Thanks for your great and quick replies though!
March 11, 2014 at 3:14 pm #56460You need to learn about moving wordpress sites before you attempt to do this.

March 11, 2014 at 3:18 pm #56464Hi Kyle
uh oh – that doesn’t sound good.
March 11, 2014 at 3:27 pm #56470You would just need to move all the files and the database, and then use a find and replace script to replace all the old links with the new ones.
