    Hi,
    My client is concerned with slow loading page loading and other performance issues after doing a https://gtmetrix.com analysis. The recommendation was gzip compression https://gtmetrix.com/enable-gzip-compression.html

    I got in contact with our hosting at MediaTemple. They said “Your (gs) Grid-Service runs Apache, as this is a Linux server. You would want to add this to the php.ini file:

extension_dir=/home000000/data/lib/php/
extension = zip.so So copy and paste is all you need.” (I replaced the exact server # with zeros) Then, they gave me a link to where I can edit php.ini.

    I wanted to check and see if this will work well with the theme vs a plugin. I looked up the W3 Total Cache for performance bc it was recommended in the forum, but there are some very concerning recent reviews- especially the claim that you are required to paste them into your footer for the free version.

    What would you recommend I do? I’m not a developer, so I’m working with the information I’ve been able to collect so far.

    Thank you in advance, I know this was a long one.

    Hi,
    I would suggest to use file edit option. It will be best.
    Thanks
