Hi,
I am having trouble creating a store locator map. The problem seems to be with Google APIs, as is shown in the javascript error console.
Before even trying to create the store locator map, I generated a google maps API key for the contact page. That worked out very well.
Then, I installed Gwebpro Store Locator and this supposedly doesn’t need an API. However, the javascript error says “missing API.” Thinking perhaps it was simply the plugin that was the problem, I tried another, LocatorAid, which required generation of a new API code. The error on this one is that there are too many API’s. I found this page, https://www.latecnosfera.com/2016/07/google-maps-api-error-urlauthenticationcommonerror.html, and accordingly disabled and deleted and regenerated the google maps API, and removed the API key from the Swift Framework settings in case it was that that was conflicting with the other map. But no luck. I am still getting the same errors. I then removed LocatorAid and tried Gwebpro again, same thing.
I need some help with these maps!
Alternatively, I would happily use the built in directory if there was a way to add a search feature to the directory map that comes with the theme?
🙂
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Morgan

Just insert the Api through Admin > SwiftFramework > Google Map Authentication. And provide me specific page url with issue.
Thanks
MohammadSeptember 22, 2016 at 11:34 am #292941Hello, thank you for replying so quickly! So I have added the API in that location (Swift Framework->Google Map Authentication), but I was worried that including that API as well as one on a different page is what was preventing the Gwebpro and/or LocatorAid plugins to not work, so I removed it, nothing changed, so I added it again. Now the map on “Contact” page is not working (http://www.brightsmileskids.org/?page_id=41) and neither is there a functioning map on the “Find a Dentist” page (http://www.brightsmileskids.org/?page_id=414). Currently on the “Find a Dentist” page I am using the shortcode [GwebproStoreLocator]. This plugin, Gweb Store Locator, supposedly doesn’t need a google API, according to their documentation. I thought that perhaps because the Swift Framework contact map DOES use an API, it was making it impossible for the Gweb Store Locator plugin to function. Along that line of thought, I uninstalled the Gweb Store Locator plugin and installed one that does require an API, but that one doesn’t work either.
***EDIT: a few minutes later, and the contact page map is working correctly. Now the only problem I am faced with is being able to use one of the store locator plugins which are giving me errors, I think because of the existence of the contact map API???
As you can see in the screenshot I attached, it is giving me the API errors, but I have deleted and disabled the APIs and tried just one, and still the same errors.
Sorry if I am being confusing!
Thanks again,
Morgan

– have you tried simply using our built in directory feature?
September 26, 2016 at 1:25 pm #293349Hi David, the built in directory feature, where does that come from? The theme itself or the Swift framework? I did try it but I need search functionality within the directory itself on the page it is shown on, and I see there is a map option to display the directory, but the map doesn’t allow for a “store locator” type funcitonality where you type in your zip code and get to see the nearest locations to you.
September 28, 2016 at 11:39 am #293655This is the directory map: http://swiftideas.com/elements/directory-map/.
You add this using the Swift Page Builder.
Thanks,
David.September 30, 2016 at 10:23 am #293897Wow. I feel so silly. Those features are just what I am looking for. Thanks for your patience. My last question is, is there any way to bulk upload to the directory?
September 30, 2016 at 10:38 am #293901No, you would need to look to a WordPress CSV importer plugin which would help you do that.
Thanks.
