ok so here’s what i’m seeing. Creating a new page and using the Swift page builder to do it. On any element that uses the visual editor I end up getting extra html whenever I make a modification to the page and save/update it

    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <h1 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">There are no secrets to success.</span><br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;"> It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.</span></h1>
    <h1 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">Colin Powell</span></h1>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>
    <p>&nbsp;</p>

Note the extra paragraph and non-breaking spaces. The first element on the page seems to only get this extra html at the end and any element in the middle seems to end up with them at the beginning and end.

Second issue I’m seeing with the page builder is that it keeps popping up a dialog that says

By switching to the page builder, any content not in page builder assets will be removed for consistency.

This dialog pops up every time I make a change and update the page. I don’t leave the editing page after making changes.

    Thanks
    Chuck

What version of the theme do you have?

What version of the Swift Framework plugin do you have?

Please add a WP login for us to take a closer look.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Can you try it first disable all plugins except swiftframework so we can discard a possible plugin conflict?

Mystery solved. I have the TinyMCE Advanced plugin by Andrew Ozz installed.

There is a setting in the advanced section called “Keep Paragraph Tags” which has a description as follows:

Stop removing the <p> and <br /> tags when saving and show them in the Text editor. This will make it possible to use more advanced coding in the Text editor without the back-end filtering affecting it much. However it may behave unexpectedly in rare cases, so test it thoroughly before enabling it permanently. Line breaks in the Text editor would still affect the output, in particular do not use empty lines, line breaks inside HTML tags or multiple <br /> tags.

Disabling this option took care of the extra code getting added all the time and it also stopped the dialog box from popping up all the time about switching between the swift page builder editor and the default editor.

FYI I still have TinyMCE advanced enabled just with the “Keep Paragraph Tags” setting disabled.

    Thanks
    Chuck
