    File Permission Issues
We were unable to modify required files. Please ensure that /var/www/mywebsite/wp-content/uploads/ has the proper read-write permissions, or modify your wp-config.php file to contain your FTP login credentials as outlined here (link to https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#WordPress_Upgrade_Constants) ..

That’s an error i get in my dashboard after 2.3 update. I’ve looked at the codex and it didn’t make much sense to me. Can you please help me out on why i’m getting this error?

    Hi,
Please go to this directory /var/www/mywebsite/wp-content/uploads/ through FTP software. Now right click on it to change its permission 644. Hope it should help to you.

    Thanks
    Mohammad

    Hi @Kirsten,

Can you try my suggestion of activating another theme so we can understand where the problem is?
    Thanks
