The fancy header image seems to load slowly. Unfortunately, this is irritating our client and despite it not making much technical or page speed sense how can I change it so that the fancy image header loads quicker or before the page content?
Thanks,
MikeJuly 31, 2014 at 10:03 am #96364Hi,
Please use this custom css code:-.fancy-heading{ background-image: url("http://new.matrixtpa.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/mountains-panoramic12.jpg"); background-position: 50% 0; display: block; padding-top: 336px; }
Thanks ๐

Swift IdeasSeptember 17, 2014 at 4:00 pm #111804Hi Mohammed,
I added the custom css but the header still seems to load very slowly and thus the content on the page jumps since it loads first. http://new.matrixtpa.com/ You can see going from page to page the header continues to load slowly.
Any suggestions to get the header to speed up? Even if it loads before the content would be Ok as this site is more concerned with appearance than function.
Thanks,
MikeSeptember 18, 2014 at 10:54 am #112102Hi,
Its loading fast here. Follow given below instructions:-
1- Please install W3 Total cache or any cache plugin to improve the speed your website.2- Use any CDN for content. Please refer this article http://support.swiftideas.net/knowledgebase/speed-up-your-website-with-maxcdn/.
Hopefully that should help to you.
Thanks ๐

MohammadSeptember 24, 2014 at 5:39 pm #114176Hi Mohammad,
I have added the Wp Super Cache and I understand that the CDN will help but what I do not understand is that there is still a significant delay for the header to load. I am not sure how it is loading fast for you as it is the last thing on the page to load which leads the text content to jump down the screen once it does load. I am getting a lot of complaints about this and really need to figure our how to get it fixed.
When I looked at a waterfall there is a start offset of 2.775 seconds? Is this what is causing the delay in loading?

MohammadSeptember 26, 2014 at 2:03 pm #114928I’m so sorry Mohammad, yes, the site is now at http://www.matrixtpa.com/
We now have the W3 Total Cache and CDN in use but the header still loads slowly.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
MikeSeptember 26, 2014 at 2:28 pm #114939Hi,
Please open to edit functions.js at /dante/js/Find this code:- if (jQuery('.fancy-heading').length > 0) { page.fancyHeading(); } And comment this code like:- /*if (jQuery('.fancy-heading').length > 0) { page.fancyHeading(); }*/
Thanks
October 7, 2014 at 1:44 am #117795Hi Mohammad,
I commented like you posted but it made the header completely disappear.
Any more suggestions? This client really just wants the header to load first. Right now when they go tot he page they see the footer and content before the header loads and then the content and footer “jumps” down the page which they are not liking.
Thanks,
