Facebook shows wrong image for product link

Hi, my customer complains that when he shares products on Facebook, some of them comes up right but sometimes they show an image from another unrelated product but the link is to the correct one. Do you know what could possibly cause this to happen? I haven’t been able to test this by myself, but my customer showed me a screenshot he took when it happened.

Have anyone experienced this?

Hi,

1. Can you show us the example URL that has the wrong product image on facebook.
2. Debug those URLs on facebook to check whether it fetch the right image or not, https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
3. Make sure the product has the featured image set.
4. If all fails, try this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-facebook/

Okay, sorry for the long delay. But I have a screenshot now and I’ve debugged the link using https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ but it shows up correct there. See attached screenshot.

As you can see, in the facebook comments it displays an image of the related Product, despite that the correct one have a can with red cleanser. (link: http://bilvardsexperten.se/butik/okategoriserad/bve-interior)

Should I try the NextGen Facebook one, or do you want to find what’s doing this?

Alright. The bug is here again. Check this product and try copy the link to facebook:

I have NextGen Facebook installed, and even with their own Share link, it’s the same bug :S

The product already has a featured image. See attached.

(Utvald bild) means, sort of, Featured Image.

Or is there any other fields I don’t know about?

Have you inserted image for facebook meta through NextGen Facebook meta fields? Just clear all cache that is created by cache plugin.

Hmm.. You’re right. I can’t find “og:image” inside a href tag for facebook share. I’m gonna look around and check.

When I look at the editing page for the product. I get this line:
NGFB Warning:
A Facebook / Open Graph image meta tag for this webpage could not be generated. Facebook and other social websites require at least one image meta tag to render their shared content correctly.

Well. Why doesn’t it recognize the main featured image as an image meta tag? What can I do to solve this? Reupload the image didn’t do it. Dunno.
