Ed- Great! Thank you! One last question related to this- is there a shortcode that I can use to put the SPB section within the modal? If not, I can just drop it right in the page for now.

    Thanks!
    Dan

    Hey Dan,

    Sure, please use this:

    [spb_section spb_section_id="13506" width="1/1" el_position="first last"]

Replace the spb_section_id="13506" number with the number that corresponds with the your desired SPB section. To find the ID, navigate to your SPB Sections and edit your desired item, in the url you will see the ID. It will look like post=13506.

    Thanks,
    David.

Just wondering if the latest update (or one soon) will have the fix for the Page Builder stripping the form tags out? Unfortunately, the code above didn’t work for inputting a SPB section, so I am currently using iframes. It is working, but not the easiest solution.

    Thanks!
    Dan

    Hi,

The supplied code works correctly pulling in the correct SPB Section.

Do you mean your HTML code is stripped from within it’s SPB Section? If you set up a test page for this with your code, I will take a look for you.

    Thanks,
    David.

Thanks for taking a look at this! I am trying to implement it inside of a modal. Here is the page with the suggested shortcode inside of a modal:

    http://www.defininggrace.com/test_MC/

Ideally, this text block and modal would be inside of their own SPB section so I can just deploy the “subscribe bar” throughout the site (as I am currently doing with the iframe version).

    Thanks!
    Dan

    Hi Dan,

Maybe I have misunderstood you, but the model/form within a SPB Section works fine here: http://www.defininggrace.com/model-test/

Let me know if I have misunderstood your query.

    Thanks,
    David.

    David,

Thanks for taking a look at it. That SPB section called “Subscribe Bar” currently employs the iframe method, which is working. However, I am trying to use the MailChimp embed code directly in WordPress/Page Builder so I don’t have to open up, edit, and upload a separate HTML file.

Previously, it was determined that the Page Builder system was stripping the form tags from the MailChimp embed code, which killed the form’s functionality. I guess fixing that is in the works in a future update.

The workaround recommended was to put the code directly in the “Text”/HTML view of a SBP section and save it without switching to “Visual” – which would often freeze up the system and not allow me to save it. Then, I was instructed to use a shortcode to place that SPB Section within the modal text box.

When I did that, the form showed up, but it is still non-fuctioning. You can see that in action on this page: http://www.defininggrace.com/test_mc/

I hope that makes sense. Thanks again, and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

    Dan

    Hi Dan,

Cool, I am with you now. Can you paste in all the MailChimp code here and set to private, then add the link here http://pastie.org.

I’ll take the code and see what I can do to help you.

    – David.

    Hi,

I create a new page(draft) with the code you had in the SPB section but used a Raw Html and a Raw js code.
Now it seems to work, but opens a new window.

    Rui,

Thank you so much! That got the form working in the page that you set up. My ultimate issue (and hopefully the last one to work through) as you can see from the post at the top of this page is that I am trying to implement this form within a modal. I dropped the Raw HTML and Raw JS into an SPB section since page builder assets are not available within text blocks/modals. I was instructed to use this shortcode to call up the SPB section within the modal: [spb_section spb_section_id=”14915″ width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”]

When I do that with the updated SPB section, the modal button goes inactive–nothing happens when you click on it other than #modal-1 being added to the address bar of my browser. When I delete the shortcode and/or put the iframe code back in, the button works again and the modal appears.

    Thanks
    Dan

    Hi Dan,

I have taken what Rui did and add this into A SPB Section, then add that to this page: http://www.defininggrace.com/mailchimp-form-test/#modal-1.

The model works and the form works as it should also.

    – How is it for you?

    Thanks,
    David.
