Hi All,
We’re setting up a new site for the town of Green River, a major component of which is a business directory. We’re using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/business-directory-plugin/
The details.
- URL: draft.greenrivermainstreet.org
- Directory Page: http://draft.greenrivermainstreet.org/?page_id=349
- Example Problem Page: http://draft.greenrivermainstreet.org/?page_id=349&listing=arctic-circle-132<br />
Note the white box where the map should be…
- Goal: to display a google map per listing.
- Directory Plugin Version: 3.3, Premium Maps Module v. 3.3
- The plugin is unmodified, though we did apply some CSS to the backgrounds, buttons and fonts.
- WP 3.9.1
- 8 plugins in total, 7 active:
- LayerSlider WP 5.0.1 (via theme)
- MailChimp 1.4.1
- Shortcodes Ultimate 4.8.1
- The Events Calendar 3.6
- Types 1.5.7 (not really being used)
- UberMenu 2 2.4.0.3 (not activated)
Theme: Dante v2.56
Testing we’ve done.>
I did a bit of digging and Google Maps via the Dante shortcode or Shortcode ultimate appear work as expected, though not on listing pages as they don’t seem to process shortcodes.
Deactivating any/all the plugins does not help, did that bit.
Changing the theme to 2014 will fix the problem.
So this is the issue, at least, it appears to be the theme and plugin are doing … something … that prevents the directory plugin from loading a google map.
Given that Dante has a Google Map module built in, it makes me wonder if there isn’t a java / api / ??? conflict between the theme and the plugin.
My sincere hope is that it’s a simple fix, something like using the theme or WP’s java library, google api, changing a prefix, again, I’m not really sure. I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide 🙂
So, tl;dr, love the theme and the plugin is great but the Maps Module appears to be incompatible with Dante and I’m at a loss as to what to do next. Any help you can provide would really save the day!
Thanks,
~ Dr. Peril
