Ok thanks – I will need to ask my colleagues for a second opinion.

    Hi,

Never saw a situation like this one and I have dealt with several import issues, not sure if there is anything corrupt in the database that is stopping the menu items from being imported. It doesn’t work even using the xml file with the default WordPress importer.

Do you have any other wordpress site where the demo import can be tested? Or can this site be reseted using WordPress Reset Plugin?

You can reset it. But I did it and got the same results.

In that case it’s it possible to create from scratch a new staging site so I can install the theme and run the demo importer?

Hi, I’ve installed wordpress from scratch with a new DB. Check it.

I’ve commented out the line giving the error.

    Hi,

Can’t figure out why this happens, never experience it before and can’t replicate it. We also have WPengine installs and we never had this problem, maybe it’s something specific with your install (database options or any server settings)

We could help you building the menu you need if you want.

If you want to replicate it just do what I did:
    – Create a Ubuntu instance on AWS (t2.micro instance) and make a stock installation using https://serverpilot.io/ (pick PHP7)
    – Setup a MariaDB RDS instance (t2.micro), stock configuration
    – Connect the WordPress to the RDS instance

With this setup, you are under free tier, so there will be (almost) no cost in the first year.

    Hi @zalguod

I’m not sure this is to do with the theme, we are completely unable to replicate it locally. Can I try giving you the XML to import yourself and see if you are able to get the menu items by using the standard WordPress import?

    Here it is: http://swiftideas.d.pr/GTPc/4gKJtuv3

or this is a reduced version: http://swiftideas.d.pr/za8c/3QAtTsSN
