Hi
We already have a site running Joyn but are interested to build a new draft using your Demo and Demo content to explore other options from scratch. I’ve installed the Demo plugin but am reluctant to activate until I know I can safely play with your demo without knocking our existing site off.
Thanks
January 30, 2017 at 11:13 am #311786For something like this I’d recommend you setup a staging site, your host should be able to handle this easily for you.
I would not recommend you import theme options/meta options and new pages onto a live site.
January 30, 2017 at 11:18 am #311787Hi,
In that case is better to don’t import the demo content. It won’t delete you anything but can add too much stuff.
Guess it’s better to import the demo content in another install and copy the page contents you need to the live site.-Rui

January 30, 2017 at 3:08 pm #311838OK, we’ve got a staging site set up under a different domain and put a fresh install of wp on it. Do you have a tutorial for installing Joyn from scratch please?
thanks in advance

-RuiJanuary 30, 2017 at 6:58 pm #311893When importing the content as just as in the screenshot provided I get this:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at root@localhost to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

Apache/2.4.23 (Unix) Server at http://www.covertvr.co.uk Port 80
Is this a problem with our Webhost?
many thanks in advanceJanuary 30, 2017 at 7:16 pm #311897Hi,
Yes, normally a memory issue:
Please open your wp-config.php file and add this:
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
Thanks,
DavidJanuary 30, 2017 at 10:03 pm #311930Thanks, that worked!
When editing the demo content, even the simplest of minor changes, such as altering only the text in the Slider Title, many of the other elements, such as some portfolio images or text boxes, disappear off the previewed page and become un-editable on the page to edit. I’ve also simply altered a few words of the Green text in the HomePage text block and that changes all the cell padding or spcaing.
Could there be any simple reason for this happening?
thanks in advance.
February 1, 2017 at 12:20 pm #312156No that’s not normal, can you provide us one example url and what exactly you can’t change?
We will also need admin credentials in a private reply.
