Default shop page snippet/title & breadcrumb

Hi Support Team,

I’ve been going round in circles with woocommerce “product-category” and have resigned myself to just using a permalink fix. Whilst working on this I noticed that any page I set as the shop base in woocommerce>settings>display>shop page is given the default snippet of ‘Products Archive’ (by snippet I mean the page title in the browser tab) and the breadcrumb is forcibly set to sitename > Products.

I tried setting a different base shop page (changing it from /shop), disabling the breadcrumb and then re-establishing the shop page (setting it back to /shop). Unfortunately the breadcrumb is displayed regardless of it being enabled or disabled in the page meta. I also tried several settings in Breadcrumb NavXT, but that didn’t help either.

Please could you tell me how to:

1) Change ‘Products Archive’ to ‘Shop’ in the browser tab title/snippet
2) Change the breadcrumb from ‘sitename > Products’ to ‘sitename > Shop’

Hi,

1) Please navigate to your YOAST settings.

2) The ‘SEO’ settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on ‘Titles & Metas’.

3) Click on the ‘Post Types’ tab.

4) Scroll almost to the bottom under the subheading ‘Custom Post Type Archives’. The shop page is listed as a Products custom post type archive.

You can change the title there under the “Title” setting.

Thanks for the step by step guide. That has worked great for the page title/snippet. Any way to drop or change the breadcrumb from Arkival > Products to Arkival > Shop ?

Do you have this Setting? Go to ‘SEO’ > ‘Titles & Metas’ > ‘Post Types’, then under ‘Custom Post Type Archives’, the ‘Products’ section has a field for ‘Breadcrumbs Title’.

If not, please add a WP login for me.

Perfect, this is being set by the plugin Breadcrumb NavXT.

– Breadcrumb NavXT Settings => Post Types => Product => Product Template
– Breadcrumb NavXT Settings => Post Types => Product => Product Template (Unlinked)

Change %htitle% in the settings to Shop.
