Database for Theme – wp_pagemeta

Hello,

I am currently changing host and just tried to import the new database, however the size of the wp_postmeta is extremely large and the host will not allow for it.

Can you please help assist, the agent said sometimes this is do to premium themes.

Hi,

The size of the database depends on the content of your site and nothing related with being premium theme or not. Of course if a theme as more options that could need more storage space but nothing dramatic.

What is the filesize of that table? can you try to delete any content that is in trash or draft status that isn’t used anymore?

What is the limit if your hosting?

Hi Rui,

File size for wp_postmeta is 90.2mib, the host only allows 50mib. I went thru my site and everything is deleted that shouldn’t be there. In addition, I have other sites with double the pages and content..

Strange thing Rui, and I asked this question already on here. Google bots are indexing demo content pages on my site from a demo install i did. Now everything is deleted on my dashboard – everywhere. Still google is index these links/pages, and they are popping up in search rankings, but giving the 404 error page. Why is this still indexing if it isn’t there? Is it sitting somewhere else and needs to be deleted?

hhumm all the plugins and themes write data in the postmeta table but that seems a lot of data.
Honestly not seeing that coming from our theme.

Try to check in detail this table in PhPMyadmin. I can have a quick look for you if you provide me the necessary credentials for the cPanel.

The table is the wp_postmeta. I also don’t know what exactly look.
Depends on the content that is there, and trying to to determine if possible where it belongs.
