Dante upgrade to 2.16 – Portfolio pages lost

I have upgraded my Dante theme’d web site from 2.15 to 2.16. The theme purchased is registered with Envato.

The upgrade broke my site in the following ways:
– portfolio pages showed a default picture box at the top of the page
– sidebar & footer widgets were lost & had to be reinstated
– static home page setting was lost & had to be reset
– menu setting for main and mobile was lost & had to be reset

I have had to revert to 2.15, because I could not determine why the portfolio pages displayed wrongly – see image attached.

Please advise
1. why this has happened?
2. how can you guarantee that this won’t happen again?

I do not want to constantly support a web site I have built for someone else. They should be able to manage upgrades themselves.

Please take a backup of themes and share website URL with worpdress admin login detail so i can debug and fix the issues .

Please go to Admin -> Theme Options -> Portfolio Options -> Portfolio Page -> Here you can set lost page easily . I hope that it will help you out sure . You can also refer this http://dante.swiftideas.net/theme-options-general/theme-options-portfolio/ .

Greetings Mohammad, maybe u can help…

1) Envato WordPress Toolkit allowed me to install, but when activating I get the message that the “plugin file does not exist”

2) Previous and Next Post in Same Taxonomy does not allow me to install, I get the message:

Something went wrong with the plugin API.

3) In Appearance > Editor, should I “Enable Editing”?

Have you upgrade to latest dante 2.5 ? Let me know this first .
1- Please download plugin at http://d.pr/f/GXmh and upload it via Admin -> Pluigns -> Add New -> Upload and activate .

2- I have attached Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin

3.-No you dont need to enable this any more .

Hi Mohammed,
I have upgraded my test/training site to v2.51 (from v2.16), and I see there are marked differences in the way the options are presented for a Portfolio/Page/Post with the tabs for the meta options.

We have just invested a considerable amount of effort and cost into training our client on how he can update his site, and I really don’t want to go back and rewrite the training manual and retrain our client. I fear it will create confusion for him, and I cannot charge him for the extra effort involved.

I see v2.15 as being stable, so I will leave the live site at that for now and advise all concerned.

Thanks Mohammad. I did update to Dante 2.5 and those Plug-in installs you provided worked and are activated. Now upon uploading/importing demo content, screen goes white and gets stuck. Max file-size limit is 64MB, upload fttp limit with host is 28+. Demo content is only 2.8MB. Any idea why the trouble?
