Hi, I’m using a plugin (Store Locator Plus) and am trying to figure out how to configure the sidebar for the store pages.

I’ve found a couple custom fields (sf_right_sidebar & sf_sidebar_config) and am wondering if these are what will resolve this.

From what I can tell, these are hooks created by FlexForm.

Can you tell me what these are and if they will do what I want?

    Thanks!

    A little more clarification.

I’m trying to change the content of the sidebars.

The SLP defaults to the default sidebar.

Is there a way I can change to a different sidebar? I’ve checked w/ the plugin author and he said it was a Theme issue.

Hey, I’m afraid I don’t know that plugin and don’t know how it works or how it’s implemented, therefor it’s hard to say what it needs in order to have a sidebar configured.

If the regular way the theme lets you choose sidebars is not working it’s hardly a theme issue – but please feel free to let us know how this plugin makes use of sidebars so we can think of why it won’t work 🙂

    Hi Melanie,

Thanks for the response. According to the plug-in author, the side bars are set by the theme.

The plugin just selects the default side bar. I want to set a custom sidebar for this post type or for specific posts.

How do I use the hooks in Flexform to set a custom sidebar for a specific post?

Are these custom fields from Flexform? If so, how do I use them?
    – sf_right_sidebar &
    – sf_sidebar_config

    thanks!

    Hi Craig,

You can set these sidebars on a per page basis, simple by editing the page, and scrolling down to the page meta options – there you will find the sidebar options for the page.

    Hope that helps.
