Custom excerpt length for recent posts (Post list)

Hi!

I’m having trouble with the viewing of excerpts in Recent Posts. Just updated to Uplift from Cardinal on the site (work in progress) and for some reason it won’t set the length of the excerpt text to the given value. Instead it shows the entire Custom excerpt for the posts, which I’ve added in the Meta section of the post itself, when choosing to view the recent posts set to “Post Lists”.

I’ve tried setting it to different values (10, 20, 0) but still same issue, the entire excerpt is shown. I’ve seen in the forum that one can add code for removing excerpts all together but I want excerpts to be shown in some places where I use “Recent Posts” and not in others. Which used to be possible just by setting the length in the specific element.

Hopefully you understand, I’m a bit an enthusiast in this field.

Be sure you’re adding the excerpt here Post Meta => Custom excerpt and not the WP default excerpt:

I am adding the excerpt Post Meta => Custom excerpt. And the excerpt is shown when I select to show this category of posts in a Recent Posts-asset. The issue is that it shows the entire excerpt, even though I set it to brake off the excerpt at say, 20 characters. This has been a smooth way to make sure the layout of the viewing stays fixed in previous themes and I would like to keep using it. And seeing how the Swift Page Builder gives me the option to set the excerpt I’m guessing I should be supposed to do it. But I can’t, for some reason.

Could you update the SF plugin to the latest version 2.5.30:http://atracta.jetty.se/wp-admin/update-core.php.

If that does not resolve the issue, please also add your FTP details.
