    even if i scale the thumbnail its still cropped….

    Hi

    Go to WooCommerce Settings > Products to set the image sizes, then regenerate thumbnails using the regenerate thumbnails plugin

    final they will be 400×400 right now I am not sure…

    If they’re not a 1:1 ratio when you upload them that’s why they are cropping

    Ok the issue is you have set the product image sizes to exactly square, but your images are not exactly square, see: http://d.pr/i/18mSV/QVTyHa0c

    That’s why some of the sides are cropped. Try turning off hard crop in the image settings and regenerate thumbnails

    I resized the images larger in woo and regenerated the thumbs but its still quite distorted
