I have been having such a hard time with wc-marketplace, a plugin we are using to create a market on our site, http://www.artizanmade.com. Your theme is one of the ones that they have tested and recommend and I have been loving how beautiful it is. But, something is wrong and the tech people I have asked for help have not been able to find what it can be.
Every time the market plugin has an update it crashes our site and our server goes into whack. It uses up all of the resources and this last time it took us five days to get the site back up. The reason I am asking you guys into this is that in trying to solve these problems, someone suggested that I turn the child theme off and the parent one on. When I did that, things went really wonky and from what I could tell, the theme had a lot differences from the child one, with many plugins outdated or not working. I thought that when you used a child theme, updates would affect both copies.
Anyway, I have been going through the folders on the c-panel, trying to see if I can find something that might be causing this. I think there is some hidden code somewhere that is causing problems. Meanwhile, I deleted the copy of the theme that I had, loaded a fresh one and updated it to the last version. I did not touch the child theme as it has all of our settings and css codes. I would like you to go in and check the child theme and see if anything is broken there.
There is also a minor problem here: http://artizanmade.com/artizan-event/anyday-hats-dare-to-imagine-seattle-show-with-heather-daveno/1478858400/
We have an events plugin and the display used to show the featured image all along the top. It doesn’t have to be that way, but now there are two versions of the sidebar showing, side by side, a big one and a small one, right side. I cannot figure out how to make the small one go away. Can you fix that?Any suggestions on what you think could be causing problems with the marketplace plugin will help a lot. I have had to delete it which means that our shops are not showing and that is a major bummer for our members.
Thank you!
November 2, 2016 at 1:54 pm #300008Hi,
The theme updates only affect the parent theme, in the child theme you will save the modifications that were done to change some behaviour or functionality of the theme.
Unfortunately we can’t support issues caused by a 3rd party plugin, we just don’t have the time to do it.
Hope you understand.-Rui
November 2, 2016 at 3:38 pm #300033I don’t expect you to check the marketplace plugin. I just wanted you to take a look and see if you can find anything that might be corrupted in the child theme. Your expert eyes might see something that is off very quickly…
I still also need to know how to get rid of the extra sidebar in the event pages:

.single-pec-events .col-sm-9 .sidebar.right-sidebar.col-sm-3 { display: none; } .single-pec-events .content-wrap.col-sm-9 { width: 90%; }

November 2, 2016 at 4:59 pm #300060Yay! That worked. Thank you!!
Now, if you can at least explain something to me… I deleted the Atelier theme and loaded a new copy and updated it. I also deleted the marketplace plugin and uploaded a new one. But, I didn’t touch the Child Theme. Can the child theme break or become corrupted? I didn’t want to lose all of our settings… When you load a new theme, does child theme automatically update to that? I just don’t really understand how the code works between the two.
The marketplace plugin was working with atelier just fine, so something has happened to cause these problems. It’s been a week now that our members can’t access their shops… Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
November 2, 2016 at 5:44 pm #300071Well the Child theme only works if you have the parent theme installed. The child theme it’s a way to extend functionalities without touching the parent theme code.
The child theme and the theme are only files in the filesystem, all the settings/options are stored in the database(different thing)
Hope it helps.

November 2, 2016 at 6:35 pm #300079OK, I think I understand.
Do any of you free lance? I need to find someone trustworthy who can check our code and see if they can find what is happening… I am willing to pay for tech assistance but am also on a limited budget. Let me know if anyone there is available and able to help problem solve what is going on…
November 2, 2016 at 6:59 pm #300083Your server is not loading site assets:
Can you report this error screenshot back to your hosting provider?
Thanks.
November 2, 2016 at 8:00 pm #300093Yes, I will. I don’t know what that means, but hopefully they will…
November 2, 2016 at 8:01 pm #300094No I don’t freelance anymore.

November 2, 2016 at 9:59 pm #300115David, the server guys seem confused about your screen shot. They said:
Could you please provide me with path to the log file for the screenshot you provided? Also please describe how we can reproduce this issue from our side.
Rui, thanks for responding. It would just be nice to find someone who is familiar with Atelier…
November 2, 2016 at 10:08 pm #300117No problem.
They just have to load the site in Chrome press in the right button, and choose the option inspect.
Then click in the console tab to see the javascript errors and warnings.https://www.dropbox.com/s/ams22u78tcubodv/Screenshot%202016-11-02%2021.08.37.png?dl=0
