Comment boxes mysteriously disappear on Woo checkout form…

Dear Swift,

I have an issue that I hope you can help with – or at least point me in the right direction…

My Site is in German (primary language) and English and I have the Woocommerce checkout field editor installed.

If a customer tries to write a message in a custom field box on Safari in the German checkout, the box disappears (does not happen on Chrome/ Firefox in either EN or DE version or Safari in English version – ONLY Safari in German!)

I’ve attached two pictures one of the ‘before’ and one ‘after’ I have tried to enter text and the boxes have disappeared.

Dear Martin,

Thank you for your previous reply, and your suggestion to contact the plugin developers.

I have now done so, and following a series of tests (including deactivating plugins and disabling the Swift theme & using WP2014), and it has been concluded that the problem is because of Atelier, and it only occurs on this theme…

Can you offer me any help to prevent the problem?

Can you test this with Ajax disabled: Theme Options => WooCommerce Options => Product Options => Add to cart ajax => Off.

Dear David,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve just tested with Ajax disabled and I’m afraid the problem persists, but still only in Safari and only in German…the English checkout is totally ok!

The boxes are there until I add text, and then disappear as soon as the words are entered.

I cannot replicate that on Safari Mac, are you using a PC?

Can you test this:

.woocommerce form #customer_details .form-row textarea:focus {
    border: 2px solid #e4e4e4;
}

I’m using a Mac (latest Safari version) and have tested it on a couple of macs…

Just tried to input that code, but no change – I’ve attached a video so you can see what happens when I start to type in the boxes (DE version) 🙂

Can you clear your Safari cache.

For me this what I see on Mac and Safari. (See screenshot.)

Can you also double check the login details provided as they are not working.

Cache cleared – same problem.

Yes, the boxes also appear for me initially, they only disappear after the typing – and I have had several customers report the same problem, so it’s not just my computer!

Again, I’ve attached a video so you can see what happens in case it helps…
