changing woocommerce currency symbol

Hi –

We had feedback from customers that the symbol for Hong Kong Dollars ($) is confusing because it makes them think it’s in US Dollars. I saw some instructions for changing the function.php file in order to do that. http://docs.woothemes.com/document/add-a-custom-currency-symbol/

I guess that means we should implement the neighborhood child theme? However we’ve already been using the main theme. Can you please give us your advice and the best next steps so that we don’t lose the content or custom CSS setting we’ve done in the main theme?

Hi,

you won’t ever use already applied custom css if you modify another thing in the child theme. So feel free to edit away!

1) is this the best way i should implement the currency symbol?
2) if yes, can you give some instructions for how to move our site which is already running on neighborhood, to neighborhood child without losing any of the work we’ve already done?

Hi,
1. Yes , Its the best way to add currency symbol .

2. Please go to Admin -> Appearance Themes -> Activate to Neighborhood child theme . You are not switching theme so you will not loose any work as done with parent theme . You can back this action .
