    Hi there

Just wondering whether you could help im trying sort my products via categories E.g size, colour, style. Yet all categories appear on my product page when id prefer there to be just the three different styles we do e.g Mens, womens, unisex.

Also after clicking on one of these styles id like to create a way of refining the search down to the size and colour your looking for.

If you could help with either of these problems, it would be much appreciated.

    Kind Regards
    Ryan

    Hi

For things like Mens, Womens etc. you should use Categories. For colour, brand, size etc. you should use attributes. See: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/

Thanks a lot for the quick reply iv had a read of the attached document which has made me realise where i was going wrong so thanks a lot for that. Yet will this enable me to have an option to refine search. I apologise if this is just a given but im currently unable to work on the website right this minute so i thought id ask whilst it was still current?

Not sure what you mine? You can filter the products on your shop page, for e.g: http://neighborhood.swiftideas.net/shop/

    Hi Kyle

Thanks for your help so far changed all my products over so there details are in attributes and not categories, which has resulted in the site looking better already. And that is exactly the type of filter i want on my page i hadnt seen that on the demo before any chance you could just give me a point in the right direction on how to get that on my site?

Add the ‘WooCommerce Layered Nav’ widget to your sidebar

Tried that but i cant seem to find a way of having it just on the category pages and not on both that and the shop page where you choose your category.

Also i know this is a different topic but do you know a way of keeping the product image the same size as what it is before making a colour selection as the image is the same yet it enlarges it and makes it look very distorted. I know this is a different topic so if its best i open a topic just let me know that’s fine.

    Kind regards

To have them filters they will need to be on your main shop page and category pages

    Please open a new topic

    Hi again

I have managed to do this yet on your demo you seem to have numerous sections i.e colour, size etc yet i can only seem to have mine displaying colour even though i have added a second navigation widget under size? any idea to the problem?

    Thanks Ryan

That’s odd, I’d have to have access to your backend to check

You would need to regenerate your thumbnails if you have only just changed the settings

I will look into being able to get you into the back end so you can look at this problem from tomorrow.

    Thank you
