I have a problem can you help please

I have put a category for all my products – in this case cushions – and then have put the following short code on a page – [product_category category=”cushions” per_page=”12″ columns=”4″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”] – however the products do not show up and therefore cannot be clicked on to take the customer to the product page.

I have changed from Hidden to Catalog in the Catalog Visibility section and it then shows however it also shows on the home page at the bottom – which I do not want – I have three product catergories I need to do this for so you can imagine how the home page would look with 30 odd products holding it up.

All I want is to be able to show products from a specific category using a short code that then customers could click on and go through to that product

    Thank you

I did send them – however may have gone to the wrong place – no worries if you can sort this asap I would be very grateful-

Basically all I want to do is to be able to click on the home page
Goes to 4 different products / click the cushions (for instance ) and go through to all the cushions that are in that category / then choose and click to buy

    Thank you

    Hi

There’s no need to create a page using the product category shortcode. I would suggest getting the link for the actually category page and link to that page instead. For e.g:

    http://dante.swiftideas.net/product-category/jackets/

    Hi Kyle

I am afraid I am lost – I am new to all this can you please explain again or confirm

Click on home Page image > goes to Ann Dempsey design page (with 4) products > link that Cushion to products Cushions as per your link

Thats how I understand the process – I tried to link please see image but it did not work

I apologise need an idiots guide please

You don’t add the link like that, you see in the shortcode, the bit that says link=”

that’s where you need to add the link

    Hi Kyle

OK I have found how to do that my mistake however now when I swith to catalogue & search in product edit box these products now show at the bottom of the home page – which is what I do not want – and that is where the whole thing started I guess – all I want is for them not to show at the bottom of the product page

    Thanks for your patience

Sorry Kyle – I will do my best

Go to http://www.lcctvproducts.com/ and scroll down and you will see 12 cushions at the bottom/after the home page – I do not want this to happen as I have three other products which are in the same product sector and that means I will have 48 products below the home page.

Go home page click Anna Dempsey Design Box goes to http://www.lcctvproducts.com/anna-dempsey-designs/
clcik on cushions and thats all the products

So now all I want to do is stop products showing under home page

I hope that helps you understand my issue – once again thank you for your patience

    Hi

You will need to remove the products from that page, I’m guessing you have used the page builder?
