    is it possible to get a stripped down version of cardinal with none of the features listed below, and none of the recommended plugins?

    No Portfolio
    No Galleries
    No Team
    No Clients
    No Testimonials
    No Directory
    No Swift Slider

    Hi

    You can disable post types in theme options > custom post type options (see screenshot). We will add the option to disable the swift slider in the next update
