The Cardinal Theme seems to be missing an Add Friend button for BuddyPress. I have already turned on the Friend Connections setting within BuddyPress. Help? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Not sure about this functionality. Will forward it to the development team.

Tested here with the latest versions and the button shows fine. I’ve improved the styling on that page, so please update to this build – http://d.pr/f/CwF2/4ujsImYe

If you are updating manually, be sure to remove the theme files before uploading the new version.

Well this is embarrassing. It’s actually the Dante theme that I’m using that is having this issue. Should I re-post in the Dante forum? Thanks so much for the quick assist, btw.

    Hi @WEswift

Can you try removing the /buddypress/members folder from the theme, and seeing if that resolves the issue?

Hmmm, that didn’t seem to work. Any other ideas?

Hmm that’s odd – try removing all folders in /buddypress apart from the css folder

If you have a link to a page, I’ll have a look to check it’s not a css issue.

Ed, thanks again for the follow up. So after more rummaging around, I am able to see the “Add Friend” link, but it appears within a user detail page itself, or under the listed members for a group. I’m not super familiar with where this should appear, but I would think “Add Friends” should also be in my user profile dropdown under Friends. The one in the very top right area of the admin top menu bar. I think it should also appear on the main BuddyPress Friends page for my user. Is that not default? Thanks again. -Paul

    Hi Paul,

We don’t override or add any BuddyPress functionality in – just provide styling. Any functionality would be down to the plugin or extensions.

    Thanks,

    – Ed
