Beginner mistakes and questions

Hi Swiftideas team,
Thanks for this really amazing theme. I really like its multifuncionality and design and only get good feedback from friends.Only recommendation for improvements: Documentation, especially for non-developers. I guess then some of my questions also wouldn’t come up. So here my issues so far:

1. Team display is ugly as the team is one person: either the pic is not centered or too big

2. The mailchimp subscribe template doesn’t fit into the newsletter footer. Check allmyhippies.com or screenshot attached. Is it also possible to have the newsletter bottom on every page until the person closes the bar?

3. One of the ugliest things, I changed the header spacing as it was too big for my taste. Now all pages with standard format have a spacing.

4. I wanted to switch to a black page title but even when selecting it in the page meta, doesn’t work.

5. How can I get rid of the second empty box below the excerpt in a masonry blog style after turning off social media icons?

6. How can I prevent the blog to display the category of a post in the thumbnail mode?

7. Is it possible to have a full-with Instagram feed with no padding?

1) How would you like this to be displayed?

2) Please follow this: http://www.swiftideas.com/knowledgebase/replicate-the-newsletter-bar-form/ and add this to Theme Options => Newsletter/Subscribe Bar Options

3) No, that is simply the Global Header banner which you have not added any content to. You can disable that here: Theme options => Global Header Banner

4) This is because you have the page header set as Light Style. It overrides the color to be white for light.

5) Please provide a screenshot of what you refer to.

6) You mean you want to remove the category from being imposed over the featured image?

Add this to Theme Options => Custom CSS:

    display: none;
}

7) Yes, choose fullwidth. Only possible if the page does not have a sidebar:
