    Hello,

I have installed BBPress and am having trouble adding a sidebar to any of the forum pages. I have read that the root forum page should have a sidebar by default but no sidebar is showing up on any page. I read on the forums here that BBPress uses Sidebar 2, but still nothing shows up.

Also, I have tried installing the plugin ‘bbPress WP Tweaks’ to have sidebars on each of the forum pages (and not just the root forum). Of course this isn’t working either, the plugin needs the file bbpress.php in the theme folder (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/doesnt-do-a-thing) – I have tried putting this in the Dante Child theme folder and the Dante folder and it doesn’t work. Could you give any advice on how to get this to work, or another option (eg is there somewhere within the Dante theme that I can put sidebars on individual forum pages?).

    Thanks

    Hi,

Does it show the sidebar with the default Twenty 15?
I guess by default it used the sidebar 2 like you said.

I guess your settings are not properly configured because it doesn’t show the space of the sidebar, it’s different from being there the empty space.

Do the test above with the default Twenty 15

    Hi,

Just checked and the same is happening with the other WordPress themes.
You have the latest version of the plugin but looks something is wrong.

Try to upload the plugin files again, if it don’t work you should contact BBPress support to help you to show the sidebar.

    Hello,

I received a reply from BBPress:

“This is caused because bbPress is rendering a certain template in your theme , this happens to be

Is your theme a premium theme or a free theme??

If it is free, I can check it out and tell you what you need to do.

If it is premium , the theme authors will have to help you as I cannot just buy a theme just to test it.

see if this guide can help you though?? It tells you about modifying the main template , you can use this to put the sidebar back in.

If you have any questions about it or suggested improvements please let me know.

    Hi,

Has I told before it’s happening with the default WordPress themes. They can check with Twenty 15.

Yes I know, just posting their reply. I have reiterated that it doesn’t seem to be a theme problem, and they suggested I try troubleshooting.. so not the most help.

    ok. didn’t understood that.

Since it’s very uncommon problem try to install it again in a new install with the Twenty 15 theme first where it should appear the sidebar.
