    Good morning!

I’m having quite a bit of trouble. I (stupidly) upgraded WooCommerce yesterday when prompted, even though I don’t have a backup of my site. I’ve getting the same error many of this forum are getting, about outdated theme templates. Furthermore, the WC update has corrupted my shop page. It seems to be pulling in “product archives” and most strangely of all, duplicating images, one on top of another. (screenshot attached – this is botanica.us/wholesale/products)

I have checked Themeforest for an updated version of Atelier (I believe you just released 1.9.2?), but I can’t find it. Nothing has been pushed to my WordPress dashboard, and when I download the theme from Themeforest, it downloads 1.9.0. What should I do? Should I downgrade WooCommerce? (and *how* would I do that?). If not, do you have an ETA on when the updated theme would be released?

In the future, I won’t be so hasty to upgrade! I’ve also realized that I need to learn how to make a backup. Any suggestions? I’m new to WordPress, so a bit of guidance would be much appreciated. Is this a child theme? How do I create that? Is that the same or different as a testing environment? (How do I create that?) Are these the same as a backup?

Thank you so, so much for your help!!!

    Best,
    Jen

    Thanks so much, Kyle!

Not to be dense, but do I install this as a new theme (Appearance > Theme > Add New)? (And then would I delete the old version of Atelier?) Or is there a place to update it?

(And if installed as a new theme, is it going to overwrite my site? I guess I’m super nervous about things now, especially without knowing how to create a backup!).

    Thanks again for everything. ๐Ÿ™‚

Best way is to override the files using FTP or cPanel
