Art Gallery suggestions

I believe this theme is the perfect fit for our art gallery.
but before I go loading thousands of pieces of art etc I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions about structure.
We would like to have 4 main portfolios/galleries/categories (not sure which to use)
Fine Art / Crafts / Jewelry / Glass
Each above would display all the relevant artists (thumbnail of a piece of work) for that section.
Upon clicking on that artist they would drop to that specific artist’s page w/ a description of the artist and a portfolio of their works.
And of course clicking on the individual images would bring up that piece of art.

As I look at the theme it appears portfolio is the option I want. Which leads to another question.
Is there a way to batch upload (if you will) art to a single portfolio page? or am I going to have to “Add New” for every piece?

Hi there,

You’d want to set up Fine Art / Crafts / Jewelry / Glass, as individual portfolio categories, that will each be the parent for their child categories.

Then, when you set up a portfolio for Fine Art, only items that are within that category and below will show.

I’m not sure if there is a way to bulk upload, but maybe something such as this plugin? http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-ultimate-csv-importer/
