Sorry to keep pushing on this, but it’s a major issue for us. Have you been able to reproduce the problem and is there anything we can do temporarily to get the thumbnails to show again?
Thanks!
April 28, 2017 at 12:24 pm #322689Hi @wolfl
We are looking into it – will be in touch with a fix as soon as we can, hopefully in within a few hours.

April 28, 2017 at 12:35 pm #322691Thanks for your patience, we have resolved this with this theme build – http://swiftideas.d.pr/CKOMg/1bwvmZEY
Fix included in the next update.

April 28, 2017 at 1:29 pm #322703Thanks Ed, that’s very much appreciated. As an ex-developer I hesitate to use “unofficial” builds on my production site, but I assume that you’ve checked this build thoroughly…?? 😉
April 28, 2017 at 1:55 pm #322713I understand! Yes – there are only 2 file changes in that update, both of which have been tested locally.

April 28, 2017 at 1:59 pm #322715Thanks for the update.
Whilst the variation images appear, they now do not appear directly under the main image, e.g. as the featured image and gallery pictures do, they now appear half way down the page (where a user would not think to scroll that far) and they also take considerably longer to load (didn’t have this issue previously).
Also the hover over image also appears now not to work, instead of allowing the user to zoom in to view the product in detail a small version of the image appears in its place.
Additional help would be much appreciated
April 28, 2017 at 2:04 pm #322717@jfirth8 – try clearing your browser cache? Testing this locally now and not seeing either of those issues.

April 28, 2017 at 2:43 pm #322737I’m afraid I can confirm those issues, in a slightly different way.
– I have chosen the thumbnails to be on the left of the main product image (in Theme Options).
– On page load they appear perfectly fine on the left
– The zoom feature on the main image also correctly loads the biggest version of the image
– Once I select one of the variations, the thumbnails gallery jumps to the bottom of the main image
– The main image now takes over the whole of the product gallery space and the zoomed-in image is smaller than the static one on screenI can also confirm that the images load in a peculiar way now, with variation images sliding in from the side much more slowly than before.
Here’s a screencast of the behaviour described above: video
April 28, 2017 at 2:57 pm #322742Thanks for confirming this @wolfl… I’ve watched your video and can confirm that my variation images do exactly the same when I hover over them. Instead of zooming in on the detail it simply overlays it with an image.
I’ve noticed that when I load the product page up for the first time the Featured Image and Gallery images are fine in that I can hover over and it will zoom in fine. However when I select a variation and then go back to the top of the list and select choose a colour (to show the featured image and gallery images again) the same issue with the variation images occurs.
@ed ….. With my images I do have one product image where the item is laid on it’s side. Meaning that its height is larger its width, the other images have more width than height. There wasn’t an issue with this previously but maybe it is causing the variation images to be shunted down the page for some reason.
Thanks
April 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm #322744Looking into this further, thanks for the details!

April 28, 2017 at 3:18 pm #322754Seems to be an issue with the left aligned thumbs, but not the when the thumbs are set to below. Still looking into this.

April 28, 2017 at 4:21 pm #322771Here’s an updated build – http://swiftideas.d.pr/m5Sxq/2FXFysOa
The issue stemmed from the additional images plugin not respecting the filter that adds classes to the images section.
Let us know how you get on with that build. There may still be an issue with the zoom, just looking into it but hard to work out where the issue is as the default WordPress theme image area is tiny.
