Additional variation images not showing any more

Hi,

With one of the recent Woocommerce updates, the functionality to show additional variation images (via their own plugin) seems to have broken. Nothing about my setup has changed, but the thumbnails simply don’t show on the product page.

To clarify, when I add images to the default product gallery they do show in the thumbnail area, but the variation images don’t. See screenshots below:

I have also encountered the same issue with the Additional Variation Images.

I am able to add them to the variation when setting up the product, but they do not appear on the product page on the front end of the site. When a user clicks the dropdown to view the different product variations, a single variation image appears which overlays the first of the gallery images, the other variation images do not appear.

Hopefully support can assist with our issue!

I was hoping that the new update might address this. Silly question: I tried to update the theme with the ThemeForest ZIP via Appearance -> Theme -> ‘Add new’, but obviously that’s not the way to do it? Do I need to FTP the new files to overwrite the old version?

The update is still not available in the WP dashboard. Could you let us know when it will be, or give me some quick advice on how to update the theme manually with the ZIP from ThemeForest?

It seems that update doesn’t show up when a child theme is active.
What I did was to activate again the parent theme, then I went to the WordPress update page, and hit the button check again.

Then the update showed up and activated again the child theme.

Now you just need to hit the update button.

Thanks Rui, I’ve done that now. How odd that the the new version didn’t show on the updates page because I’ve had a child theme for ages and it always showed available updates before.

I’ve only just seen that there is an update to the Additional Variation Images plugin as well, which looks like it might address this bug too (https://dzv365zjfbd8v.cloudfront.net/changelogs/woocommerce-additional-variation-images/changelog.txt). Just FYI, @jfirth8.

I will let you know if the issue still persists after those updates.

It’s difficult to tell exactly if it’s something related to the child theme or something in cache/transient somehow since that update was deployed more than 30 hours ago.

Thank you for the above comments.

I’ve updated the Atelier theme (Version: 2.4.34) and have then reverted back to the child theme, i’m afraid that it hasn’t made a difference for me.

I’ve tested the plugin with the standard Twenty Seventeen theme, and the variations appear using this theme. I’ve also checked and I am already running the latest version of the variation plugin (1.7.6).

@wolfl did anything change for you?

Any further assistance would be much appreciated.
