adding function to blog shortcode

When you add blog posts to a page from the swift page builder, how hard would it be to add the functionality to choose the post type?

What I would like to do is have it default to a blog post, but allow you to choose a post type at the top. The post type would dictate which categories were available for that post type.

Is this impossible to do? If it is more than this forum is willing to support, does anyone know a freelancer that can do this?

I am really in a bind on this one. Any help will be much appreciated.

I need to add several post types (this part is easy) but I need them to display very similarly to how the blog posts display. This has been the hard part. Adjusting this shortcode will fix it. thank you.

It would also work to just duplicate the shortcode for each custom post type. any ideas on which files I would need to change?
