I can’t seem to get the options for the page builder to work for the woocommerce product pages?
June 30, 2013 at 5:22 pm #9622Sorry there is no page builder available for products as it’d just be a description but you can still use shortcodes!
Thanks
BenJune 30, 2013 at 7:01 pm #9629So I cannot add a portfolio slider to the bottom of the page, or any other detail to the product pages other than in the description box that woocommerce provides? No revolution sliders, etc??
Thanks,June 30, 2013 at 7:10 pm #9631Sadly not, you can add a product slider on the right side of the product above featured image
Thanks

Visual Composer 3.6.6 is compatible with woo commerce… What’s up with only being able to use the features on certain pages? Can you point me in the direction of enabling the editor on the product pages? Thanks.
July 1, 2013 at 11:11 pm #9801Hey guys,
In terms of the WooCommerce things, you can set the image sizes via the WooCommerce settings – this works as it should. The WooCommerce display options are available in the Theme Options panel.
We’ve been thinking about adding in support for the page builder on product pages recently, and we hope to be enabling it for the next update. If I’m honest, we had no idea anyone would have a want/need for it within the product description.
We appreciate the feedback – thanks.

July 1, 2013 at 11:31 pm #9810Thanks Ed.
Setting the images sizes like you describe works, but still breaks the layout. Have a look here (http://alohastatemedia.com/basic-photo-package/) The theme calls the thumbnail image size, but it looks like the css calls for 48% width, which at the large responsive size makes the images scale up without a sidebar. The WooCommerce display options in the theme options panel do not work. No matter what options are chosen, nothing changes. Also, the disable breadcrumbs selector does not work.
What’s the point of having a woocommerce site that is so great like flexbuilder, but not being able to use any of the features on the product pages? You don’t need the page builder in the description. You need the page builder to format and create the rest of the page! We want control over how the page is displayed, ie, being able to control the size and number of related items and up-sells.
I’m really disappointed in the lack of being able to change anything in the pages that have anything to do with woocommerce. It sucks. I bought the theme because of the page builder, now most of my site it stuck and it can’t be changed 🙁
Any dates for the update?
Thanks,Nate.
July 1, 2013 at 11:42 pm #9812Hi Nate,
Ahh I see, those images are way too big (that is standard WooCommerce styling though). Will get that changed in the next update.
What version of the theme are you using? We’ve tested the theme options here for the WooCommerce archive/product pages, and all seem to work fine. The meta options on the page themselves wont, as WooCommerce setup doesn’t allow us to access it, unfortunately.
Changing the structure of the product page would require pretty major integration, and would likely be more hassle than it’s worth with most product pages. It’s a difficult call to make, as while you would rather have more control, most people would prefer to easily add their products without having to build each page.
While I can understand your frustation, I don’t think it’s fair to say we missold anything to do with the product pages. You can see from our demo how they are built. I do apologise if you feel that it was expected.

I installed the latest update, but the photos are still way to large. Is there a fix for this?July 4, 2013 at 4:05 pm #10181@natevolk – the latest update was a hotfix for the google maps issue. We’re hoping to provide an update early next week to resolve the related image size.
I’m a little bit confused as to how you think that the product content is over 50% of the site, when you have posts/pages/portfolio items.
As I’ve said, we are looking to improve this – page builder support for product pages will be added as soon as we can, although we’re keen to not make it too complex and take away from the simplicity. We have to cater to the majority of our customers, and as much as we’d sometimes like to venture down the route you are suggesting, most of the time it’s just not feasible for our customer base. In this case, bespoke solutions would seem to be the better route.

July 4, 2013 at 6:35 pm #10231Basically, I’ve stopped development to see if you can get this theme fixed, and if it would really work for our needs. The site it nowhere near complete and I don’t want to waste anymore time if this is not the right theme for us.
3 Pages
12 Portfolio Items
27 Products
64% of the site will be products.Do you not see how I feel your advertising is misleading? You say all these great things about being able to make the site into anything, showing your great page builder, and say its woocommerce ready. But nowhere does it mention that you can not use the page builder everywhere. I get what you are saying, you’ve provided a very basic integration of the woocommerce plugin. I’m just saying that when you do not make that limitation clear it leads me to believe otherwise, especially when the deeper woocommerce integration is readily available in other themes that provide the visual composer plugin as a page builder with a template system.
July 4, 2013 at 6:55 pm #10238To be honest, I am struggling a little bit to see how you found it misleading. I can’t think of any product that says it can do X and Y, but can’t do Z. It’s just not something that you would expect to read in a description selling a product. Nowhere have we claimed to be able to build product pages with the page builder, else this would have been a prime example of something we’d show off and publicise. A simple question to ask about it, and we would have said. Either way, we don’t want to argue about it, we’d much rather sort it out for you and have you be happy with the theme.
As I’ve said previously, we are enabling it for the next feature update, in the space below the product images/details/tabs, so that you can add whatever you like. This would have been in the theme from early on, if there had been demand for it – however you are the first person who has actually requested it.

July 4, 2013 at 7:10 pm #10243Thanks for the reply Ed. Don’t get me wrong, I love them theme. I guess I just read all the great features and assumed that they worked everywhere. I took the woocommerce integration and put it in the context of the rest of the theme.
At any rate, I do appreciate the great support that you guys have provided, and I am looking forward to the update. I commented out some woocomerce css to get the images to display at the correct size, and added php to a child theme to get more than 2 columns in the related items.
Thanks again for the discussion, and no hard feelings on my end. Happy customer. -
