  Hi,

  I recently switched to Dante from another theme. My previous theme also came with Revolution Slider and Layer Slider, so I didn’t reinstall these plugins when I installed the theme – should I have? Now when I try to use Layer Slider I am unable to – please help.

  I’m using WP v3.9.1 and Dante v2.54 – neither are showing updates pending.
  Revolution Slider v4.3.6 – showing latest version available is 4.3.8, but no options to update are showing (perhaps I can try a manual update?)
  Layer Slider v 5.1.? – no updates were showing as pending, but I can’t confirm the exact version I was on as LS is now missing altogether (see below)

  When I add an existing LayerSlider within a row, as an element and/or via the Meta Options, I get the following code show up floating in PageBuilder below the slider element – the slider ID is not saved within the element either. The same code (no slider) shows up on the web page too:

  ” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”]

  I created a new basic LayerSlider to test if it was anything to do with my previous theme, but got the same result. I then deactivated LS and deleted the plugin from within WP and double checked that the folder was gone via FTP, then I tried reinstalling the plugin using the zip file included with Dante – I got the following results:

  First try:
  Could not copy file. /home/lpgdesig/public_html/practice/public/plugins/LayerSlider/static/codemirror/demo/search.html

  Second & third try:
  Could not copy file. LayerSlider/demos/v5.zip

  Manual Upload (extracted files):
  Several ‘critical file transfer errors’, one or two ‘directory already exists’, even though the plugin was removed and deleted via WP, and double checked as removed via FTP. Opted to ‘overwrite’ existing directories. Layerslider does not show in my installed plugins.

  I was getting the same results with Revolution Slider, but that seems to have rectified itself now (no idea how), but currently I have no Layer Slider and can’t reinstall it – any help would be very welcome.

  P.S Is there any way to get the slider to show above the main-container, ie before the main page starts?

  I recommend only using one of the 2 plugins

  Have you had any luck Kyle?

  I’m also unable to complete the theme update to v5.5, each time it fails saying:
  ‘Could not copy file. dante/includes/options/img/Dante_Header_kitchen_sink_social.jpg’

  I’ve also noticed that the Layerslider plugins directory seems to be back (Version 5.1.1) – it’s not appearing within the WP menu, it is showing as an installed plugin which can be activated/deactivated. All very strange, as you know I had deleted this before contacting support, which is why I couldn’t confirm the version number…

  Still waiting for some feedback on this – anyone???

  In the meantime, seeing as I am unable to update the theme via WP, can you confirm that downloading just the WP files from Themeforest and uploading them manually via FTP will do the trick – re updates anyway?

  I’m asking because style.css downloaded today, says that it’s Version: 2.53 – please advise ASAP.

  The zips you have/and the layer slider plugin should work absolutely fine. The issue sounds to be something to do with php memory. What do you see on wp-login.php when plugins folder is correctly named?

  Mmm a page not found wouldn’t suggest a php memory issue, but an issue with that security plugin you used. With that and the fact that you’re getting 0Kb on uploads, it may be best to send your host an email/support ticket to have a look at that.
