    Hi,

We use this theme together with WPML for a year now, since the latest update there have been problems with the WPML connection. We use the portfolio in a way that the portfolio item links to a page on the same website. The main language (Dutch) still works perfect. Using the other languages the ‘Link to URL’ option does not work and the portfolio item links to the item in stead of the URL we added in the ‘Link to URL’ box.

Example: Go to http://construction.ufkes.net/index.php/machines/?lang=en and click on the ‘Woodchippers’ image. You don’t go to the link behind the image but get redirected to the portfolio item.

Any ideas how we can solve this? Looking forward to receive a solution. Thanks.

NB: WP and Theme version are both up to date.

Hey, can you try switching your permalinks back to default to see if that solves anything?

Is the link on the image hardcoded or dynamic? If it’s hardcoded try changing the link to the new format after you switched the permalinks back to default please!

    Hi,

Thanks for your quick response. It is working again when we change the permalinks to default. Is there a possibility to use our old permalinks option in this situation? It had worked for almost a year and we (especially our customer) liked this situation.

Hope to hear from you soon again. 🙂

    Kind regards,

Hi, sometimes such errors work out by changing the permalinks back to default, saving, and then changing back to custom again! Something like a permalink reset.

Let me know if worked for your case as well please!

The permalinks reset did not fix the problem unfortunately. Any other suggestions?

    Hi,
Please go to manage languages, Admin -> WPML -> Languages -> Language URL format ->
WPML lets you choose how to organize contents in different languages. You can select between:

Language directories (like wpml.org/es/ for Spanish and wpml.org/de/ for German).
    Different domains per language
A language parameter added to the URL

For language directories to work, your site’s permalink structure needs to be different than the default one.

Hope that will help you sure.

    Thanks
