I’ve already searched for a solution here in the forum, but I couldn’t find the solution that I am looking for. So, here is my question:
The following link is the permalink of my portfolio item in my company’s website buffetize.com
“http://buffetize.com/?portfolio=big-round-glass-plates”
As you can see also the attached file “buffetize-permalinks.jpg”, I want to remove the “?portfolio=”. in the link.
I cannot edit this thing inside wordpress and after some google searches I found some people said that I cannot edit this, because of the theme. This is something that the themes should have it. Sorry , if is it something in the theme options and I didn’t see it. So please guide me how to make it as I want to. I mean, like: “http://buffetize.com/big-round-glass-plates”. without the “?portfolio=”.

If you go to settings > permalinks, and scroll down you will see the options for portfolio and products

April 22, 2014 at 8:59 am #69055Hello Kyle, maybe I wasn’t that clear and understandable to you.
so , When I publish a new portfolio post it has the ?portfolio= label in my url e.g. http://www.example.com/?portfolio=mypost
I want it to be just http://www.example.com/mypost
How can I get rid of the portfolio part?
I search a lot in the web and ask the same question to some forums , but almost everyone told me that’s likely a theme issue.
I tried to remove the ?portfolio= , by change some lines in the file swift-framework\custom-post-types/sf-post-type-permalinks.php , the “portfolio_category_slug”.
and after to the portfolio-type.php file. The good part is that this works , but I had some issues with the layout of some portfolio items (not all , some of them).
So , that’s why I am asking for your help again.

As I said in my previous comment, in your WordPress Admin go to Settings > Permalinks and you can change the portfolio permalink base (see screenshot)

May 8, 2014 at 8:20 am #73295Hello Kyle, as you can see (image attachment “permalinks-2”) I made the changes you told me but as you will see this breaks the connection between the portfolio gallery and the portfolio item.
Check the following link: http://buffetize.com/portfolio-masonry-gallery/
and choose any portfolio item you want to test it.
May 8, 2014 at 8:34 am #73303This is because your pages slug is not portfolio, you would need to set ‘/portfolio-masonry-gallery/’ if that is what you are keeping it as

May 8, 2014 at 9:13 am #73324Did you choose one of the portfolio items I told you to see the problem that appears?
this is an example: http://buffetize.com/big-glass-bowls
of course this is the correct structure but appears to be problematic because nothing appears.
