I’m a newbie so apologies. I imported the demo content to help guide me in creating my site and I think I’ve made a mess of it somehow. Menu bar is not appearing properly and I seem to be missing menu content. Is there a way to start fresh? Can I uninstall the demo content or reload the theme since I haven’t made too many changes anyway? I’m using the Pinpoint Child Theme and the latest WordPress if that helps at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

You will have to remove all the content

    1. The long way – remove everything in wordpress backend
    2. The quick way (knowledge needed) – Go in PHP MyAdmin on your hosting, and delete all tables in your database
    3. Create a new database

When you upload the demo content, go to Appearance > Menus and assign the main menu to the main menu position.

Remove the _MACOSX file from your file manager, this is automatically uploaded when you upload something from a Mac.

    1. Activate twentyfourteen
    2. Delete Pinpoint from your file manager, then refresh your themes page in wordpress admin to make sure it’s not there
    3. Upload the new theme and then activate

It should not use your old version, if it does, try clearing your cache.

I think you’re getting mixed up, the demo content is not part of the theme files, that it just the posts, pages etc from our demo. These are stored in the database, deleting the theme files will not delete the content on your website as they are a separate thing.

If you need to start completely fresh then you will have to clear your database. Or set up a new wordpress install
