I am trying to translate the theme using WPML’s string translation but I found that some strings won’t appear on the front-end.
So far I found that the following strings doesn’t work on WPML’s string translation:
0 items in the shopping bag (“items”)
Size attribute
Category: (In Product Page)
Returns & Exchange (In My account page)Could you please advise how to fix the problem? Thank you.
January 27, 2014 at 4:14 pm #45065Update:
I managed to fix the “0 items in the shopping bag” problem by myselfBut the following strings still doesn’t work
1) Size attribute – (The word “Size” in product page)
2) “Category:” – (In Product Page)
2b) “Tag:” – (In Product Page)
3) “Returns & Exchange” – (In My account page)
4) “Edit address” – (In My account > Address Book page)Again, I am using WPML’s string translation. I saw some user had an exact same problem as mine in the other thread:
http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/some-strings-wont-translate-wpml/Is it better to use PO / MO method to translate? Will I need to start all over again if I use PO / MO? Please advice. Thanks!
January 30, 2014 at 8:49 am #45712Hi, you only need WPML if you need multiple languages. If you only need one language I recommend using poEdit or Codestyling Localization.
Can you let me know if that answers your question please?
Thank you!
May 5, 2014 at 8:55 pm #72328Hi Melanie, I’m having the same issues with:
2) “Category:” – (In Product Page)
2b) “Tag:” – (In Product Page)Here is my site, I’m using wpml too. Searching this forum, this problem appears to other users too, but isnst solved, i think. I’m running all the latest versions of your theme and plugins….
Your help is aprechiated!

@rootdigger – Which Version of theme is being used by you ?
Thanks 🙂
With Best Regards
Swift IdeasMay 6, 2014 at 1:36 pm #72592Hi Mohammed, thanks for your quick response. I’m using version 1.70 (with child theme). German is my main language, so if you select a product, the english strings “Category” and “Tag” still appear. In WPML I scanned the strings several times, it only gives me “Category” and “Tag” in the WordPress Context (not in “theme swiftframework” context or the like). I can provide you with login data for my backend, if you like.
Best, Ruediger
May 8, 2014 at 5:16 pm #73552Hi @rootdigger,
Have you checked the latest language files in v1.70? These were definitely sorted!

May 8, 2014 at 6:02 pm #73562You mean:
/themes/neighborhood/language/en_US.mo
/themes/neighborhood/language/en_US.po
/themes/neighborhood/language/es_ES.mo
/themes/neighborhood/language/es_ES.po
/themes/neighborhood/language/nl_NL.mo
/themes/neighborhood/language/nl_NL.po
/themes/neighborhood/language/sv_SE.mo
/themes/neighborhood/language/sv_SE.poAnd then I should follow this, makinfg my own german po/mo?
http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/items-not-covered-by-translation/Should I import it then in the WPML/String Translation section?
Sorry for bringing up this language-issue here, but the WPML-Team didnt give much support last weeks, as you can see here:
http://wpml.org/forums/topic/string-translation-problem-14/Best, Ruediger
May 12, 2014 at 6:06 pm #74302Hi @Ruediger,
Only the English ones will be 100% up to date, as we can only update other languages once the kind people who provide them update them and send them to us.
If you make a german translation, we’d really appreciate if you could send it to us to include.
Yes, you can then use the WPML plugin.

May 12, 2014 at 6:32 pm #74306Hi Ed, unfortunately I’m not familiar with translating a theme, or providing a translation…. 🙁 Its just that the strings “Category” and “Tag” are not working in German. I dont know what to do. When looking at the string translation section of wpml, I find: “Category” in WordPress context, and “Category:” in this theme’s context.
The same with “Tag”. Both translated, but not working…it says, the neighborhood-strings scanned by wpml are from single-portfolio.php and sf-blog.php files. Nothing in the woocommerce/shop-section… but my translation-problem is on the single product pages.. Ruediger
May 12, 2014 at 6:40 pm #74307I’ve just checked, when disabling the premium theme (and using a wordpress standard theme), the problem is gone. So this is a theme issue? I remember having imported some po/mo with german translation for this theme a while ago, but it didnt work and I deleted them. During the import process, I assigned these german theme translations to the “admin_texts_theme_neighborhood” context… as far as I remember. Then, maybe after updating, the theme context strings were called “theme swiftframework”. Maybe this is causing the problem somehow? What a confusion:)
May 13, 2014 at 12:26 pm #74558Hi @rootdigger,
The german translation files would need to be updated using the english file, this can be done in POEdit.
“swiftframework” is the correct text domain.
