    Hi there,

I want to show a left sidebar on my shop page. I’m able to set the categories list in Widgets – WooCommerce Sidebar, but I can’t manage to show anything else, like attributes or price filter. They are activated in my widgets, but they don’t appear on the sidebar. I created 2 attributes (pointures (size) and marque (brand)) and apply them to some dummy products to make sure the attributes were not empty.

    They still don’t appear.

Can you help please, that’s really important.

    Hi,
You need to set the attributes in the Variable products, you have 3 variable products but none got attributes. After adding the attributes you will need to create the variations of those product attributes.

You should read this documentation before proceeding.
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

    Hi Rui,

I don’t think that products need to be variable to have attributes…I can set size and color without having variations… because I can see them right here: http://www.justinedemers.com/piedsgeants/categorie-produit/accessories/ (I know it Nota theme, but I’m working on both right now and had the same problem too)

I did some research and I think I can’t show filter on the homepage of my website. But my client really needs that. And I don’t want to set the shop to be the homepage because I need a much beautiful design than the WooCommerce homepage shop (loop).

Do you have any suggestion? I was planning on doing my homepage as usual and just add a widget area with the shop sidebar and filters, but that don’t seem possible…

    Thanks in advance!

Yes they need to be variable so you can select and search using the different attributes combination(variation).

Even if the product has only 1 size and 1 color you will need to create that unique variation. So what was the point of having attributes if you can’t select them in the product page to add to the cart.

If it’s only an informative attribute you can use tags instead.

    Ok, thanks.

Well, I’ve added attributes (pointure) to a variable product and still nothing in the sidebar on the homepage. The shop sidebar (example on page category) shows the filter, but not the sidebar on the homepage. And what about the price filter? It doesn’t show either. Basically, I’m only able to show categories.

    http://www.justinedemers.com/piedsgeants/ (sidebar with no filter)
http://www.justinedemers.com/piedsgeants/categorie-produit/jackets/ (sidebar that shows filter without any problem)

    Thanks again,

    Justine

    Hi,

You cannot show those attributes on your homepage. This is not how the WooCommerce Layered Nav widget works, ref: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-widgets/#section-5.

The layered navigation widget only appears on product archives.
