Hello,
I have a new wordpress install and a new neighborhood theme version.I have installed Yoast SEO and now when I edit or create a post and then go to publish, save or update, I get caught in a loop with the “Do you want to leave this site?” warning box popping up and stopping the page saving.
I have disabled all other plugins and also reinstalled Yoast SEO, but the warning keeps popping up.
It also happens in all browsers.
Feel free to log into my theme and make a change on one of the last testing posts and you will see the error.
What can I do?
Regards

You have choose the “Leave” option, so it can save the page. Don’t worry because it won’t leave of that page.
Give it a try.

January 25, 2017 at 5:04 pm #311411Hi Rui,
This is not normal functionality to press “Leave, you changes may not be saved” to actually “stay on a page and save it”!And it doesn’t seem to appear for other themes.
Is this something that could be patched in a future update? Or do you know a bit of code to hide this pop up alert? Its very annoying!
Regards
DanielJanuary 26, 2017 at 6:12 pm #311535That’s definitely not normal, I had experience it a couple times but didn’t realized it could be from the theme. Was thinking it was from YOAST.
Will have a look at this with the development team.

January 26, 2017 at 6:45 pm #311544Hi Rui,
It’s definitely the Neighborhood theme.I just tested it again in other themes and there is no pop up alert at all, the posts and pages just save as normal as if there was no seo plugin installed.
And there is absolutely no mention of this “error” with regards to Yoast and other themes, I’ve spent days searching.
I might suggest making sure your theme works flawlessly with the #1 SEO plugin might be a priority. I absolutely love this theme but this nagging error is making me lose my confidence and obviously if others were to post on my site, this would be incredibly confusing. It even happens when you are logged in as an “Editor”.
Hopefully you can get your devs to do a quick fix.

DanielJanuary 26, 2017 at 7:52 pm #311564Hi Daniel,
There was an issue with Yoast previously that was causing issues our Page Builder in our latest themes – this was an issue on their end that they fixed after it was introduced in a previous update. It may be that there is something else that is conflicting given Neighborhood runs a different version of the page builder to our later themes.
We’ll look into it and push and necessary fixes asap.
Thanks,
– Ed
January 26, 2017 at 9:58 pm #311576Hi Ed,
Thanks for the reply.Would be great if you could get that “confusing alert” sorted out — frankly, even if you could just swap around the wording of the alert, this would be a great help.
At the most pressing “leave” to “stay and save” is making me feel like something is broken somewhere.
Thanks again and congrats on a great theme.

January 27, 2017 at 2:00 am #311588Hi Daniel,
The alert is a browser alert – nothing we can control unfortunately. Looking into the cause of it, hopefully have a fix in the next 24-48 hours.

January 27, 2017 at 3:04 pm #311646Hi Daniel,
Please can you try this version of the theme – http://swiftideas.d.pr/4onG/2UWhypwP
That should resolve it, please give it a try and let us know.

January 27, 2017 at 4:32 pm #311658Hi Ed,
WOW… what fantastic customer service! The attached “fixed” theme above seems to solve the problem, brilliant.
For your info… I did 2 new fresh installs on subdomains… one with just old Neighborhood theme and only Yoast SEO plugin. Here I was getting the confusing error alert box on post and page updates.
Then another install with just “fixed” theme and just Yoast SEO, and no error alert at all.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
>> Do I need to rebuild my main site again from scratch or can you push this into an update?
