IS BELOW WORTH TRYING TO FIX? Or should we reload site with most recent backup. And, perhaps, pay the $50 for SwiftIdeas to install Cardinal template.
    Here’s the situation:
We’ve been using “Pinpoint” for several years on our department’s “Extreme Alaska” online magazine. The site is crashed after trying to customize new Cardinal-child theme. Current error message:Fatal error: Cannot redeclare faqs_edit_columns() (previously declared in /home1/fyjbtech/public_html/wp-content/plugins/swift-framework/includes/custom-post-types/faqs-type.php:86) in /home1/fyjbtech/public_html/wp-content/themes/pinpoint/includes/custom-post-types/faqs-type.php on line 70

Problems below resulted from attempt to install new “Cardinal” template
    1.Installed Cardinal folder using FTP
    2. Installed & activated all the required plugins
    3. Installed Cardinal Child folder
    4. Used dashboard to apply Cardinal Child
    5. Began customizing site with Cardinal child theme
    6. After I set menus to “contents” and designated set “Static front page” pointing to existing “frontpage.” Afterward, site displayed code instead of posts.
    7. Tried to fix this with Pagebuilder. That also showed only code view. Did not work.
    8. Reapplied PINPOINT theme to see if the pages still displayed properly …. site crashed with that Fatal Error. I figure this is a conflict with that “Swift framework” and Pinpoint, perhaps other plugins.

    Hi,

That’s a conflict between a common function in both themes.
Just to be clear that the service of 50$ got nothing to do with us, that’s an Themeforest service.

Can you provide me ftp access so I can rename the pinpoint function that is creating the conflict so you can keep going with the migration.

Already changed the Pinpoint function name.
But couldn’t login in the WordPress admin with the provided credentials.

You just need to install the swiftframework to confirm that the function error doesn’t exist anymore.

    Let me know the result.

Rui, You fixed the Pinpoint theme conflict! I reinstalled the SwiftFramework folder and Cardinal is up and working, lots of configuration tweaks ahead.
ONE LINGERING CONCERN: Right after I activated both the Cardinal, then Cardinal Child themes, each time the screen displayed “You do not have” authority or something for this action. I jumped back to Dashboard and all is well, but I had not seen that warning before. Should have screenshot it!

Anyway, Great service. You’ve saved my butt! Thanks.

That kind of situation can happen when we are redirect to a page link that doesn’t exist, probably in the plugin activation.
Probably you won’t see it again.

    Glad I could help.
