Spent some time this morning and started totally fresh with my sandbox. Deleted the old sandbox completely and started over. Applied latest uplift theme and swiftframework. Searching for our typical keyword “human” that was causing the “internal server error” still causes it but I discovered something else. I searched for the following

Business at the Speed Of Now

and came back with a bunch of results, however if I searched for

“Business at the Speed Of Now” note the quotes I got this fine error

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 92 bytes) in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas12_data02/97/3701897/html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 838

I just checked the same search phrase “Business at the Speed Of Now” on my production site which is currently running an older version of the theme and framework and I don’t get the above error over there so maybe this isn’t related to my “internal server error” issue but still it seems to be an issue of some sort.

    Hi,

Guess there is some specific configuration in your staging site, a different php setting(maybe magic quotes).
    http://php.net/manual/en/security.magicquotes.php

That error indicates that the server is running out of memory, you can increase it inside
    the wp-config.php to 128M or a maximum 256M.

Also check the official documentation from WordPress in the link below.
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

This is all better now that I’ve moved of my managed WordPress hosting plan to a virtual private server where I have far more control over things.

    Great, marking as resolved.

    Thanks.
