    Hi all,

I would like to inform if I am doing anything wrong.

I am using translated packages into Slovak (translated by editor locally, uploaded to server) (swift-framework-plugin-sk_SK.mo, swift-framework-plugin-sk_SK.po and sk_SK.mo, sk_SK.po) located in language plugin folder and theme folder. They are working without any problem until I update theme or swift framework plugin. Always after update, they are deleted from server. Could you please advice me what to do?

    Thank you,

    Filip

    Hi,

You need to place them inside the child theme or they will always be replaced.

If you install the child theme, inside the functions.php file there is a commented function that will load the translation files from the child theme directory.

You will need to create a directory called language or languages depending what is written in that function.

Install the child theme and give it a try. let us know if you face any problem.

    Hi Rui,

I have installed and activated child theme. I also create folder called language and placed there files swift-framework-plugin-sk_SK.po and swift-framework-plugin-sk_SK.mo, but they are not working. Only sk_SK.po and .mo files as a theme files are working. Is there any way that also plugin localization files can be stored somewhere and not be replaced always?

    Thank you.

    Filip

    Hi Filip,

I believe the plugin localization has been added for a future update. This means the Swift Framework plugin translations files will be update proof if placed within /wp-content/languages.

The translations files should be within a child theme.

    Thanks,
    David
