    Hi

Please bundle framework and theme updates… the framework update shows way before the theme update, and even now the latest theme version is not showing as an update on a client’s site, and ThemeForest version is old.

And when updating the framework, the sites just breaks…

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, just not sure it’s possible to achieve it in WordPress.
Will forward the suggestion to the development team.

    Hi @nosuchagency

We send out the updates at the same time, so are you saying that the auto update for plugin appears but the theme doesn’t?

The Themeforest updates were delayed, but should be available shortly.

    Thanks,

    – Ed

    Hi Ed

Yes, we have several clients where the plugin wants an update, but the theme won’t. 🙂 Other than that, not all clients updates the theme even if it’s updatable, but they do update the plugins.

We are having so many issues with this, so it would be nice with a solution where you can’t mess up the site even if you update one, and not the other.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I do not believe this to be feasible. The SF has to be a plugin and not part of the default theme, which means they cannot be bundled.

An update for the theme would require a user action or a developer to manually FTP upload both the theme/plugin at the same time.

    Thanks,
    David.

    Hi @nosuchagency

To re-iterate what David said, we are required by Envato to have them separate. The updates we’ve been making recently are all in the effort to make them completely separate, so that they don’t require specific versions of each other to play nicely.

    Hi

    @Ed
Is this because the size of the theme will be too large with the framework files?

    Thanks

Nothing to do with the size – but Envato has rules on certain things such as post types, builder, shortcodes etc all being in a plugin, not the theme.
