  I’ve just created my first variable product, and I’ve run into a few issues:

  1) The Product Image is cut off at the sides (it’s landscape, but is displaying square)
  2) When choosing the variation from the drop down menu, the second Additional Image displays first.
  3) When clicking right on the Additional Image, it repeats. Clicking again then displays the first Additional image.
  4) The image quality on the category page does not look sharp – https://mexart.co.uk/product-category/wood-carvings/day-of-the-dead/
  5) When adding a variation to the basket, the drop down basket does not display, as it does for standard products

  Hi

  1) Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display and edit your single product image size, then use the regenerate thumbnails plugin

  2) If you’ve set images on the variations themselves, then the image will change to that when you select a variation

  3) Yes, because the main image changes to the one you have set on the variation, but you also have that image in your product gallery. You should only use one or the other, I’d suggest removing images from the product gallery and only using the variation image

  4) Again, change the woocommerce image sizes then regenerate thumbnails

  5) That’s because it can not be added via AJAX, as there is additional information that needs to be sent to the server about which variation has been chosen, and therefore the page needs to reload

  ok, I spoke too soon. There are still some issues to fix:

  1) I have played around with the Woocommerce image settings and regenerated thumbnails. The Product Image now displays correctly on the category page, but is displaying as square on the product page. The product image should be landscape but is displaying square. The product variation images should be square but are displaying slightly longer on the vertical side.

  2 and 3) each variation has two images uploaded. when choosing the variation from the dropdown, the second image displays first, repeats, then the first image is displayed. I do not have these images in the product gallery. This only happens in Safari – Chrome and Firefox are fine. Have emptied cache and tried on different machines to confirm.

  1) It is landscape:

  

  To get the images to display square, hard crop should ideally be enabled.

  2) Can you disable your child theme whilst we look at this? Can you disable all plugins so only WooCommerce & Swift Framework are active. Especially WP Rocket.
