    Having a problem with the menu on a blog/tag filter page.

    http://8e3.070.myftpupload.com/body-of-knowledge/ Blog page is fine

    http://8e3.070.myftpupload.com/category/enewsletters/ Blog category is fine.

    http://8e3.070.myftpupload.com/tag/continuous-improvement/ Blog tag is missing the top menu. Also of note the hamburger menu is also empty. They’re both set to the same menu layout.

    Am I missing something here or is this a bug?

    Thanks
    Chuck

    Please can you disable all plugins leaving only Swift Framework and WooCommerce active whilst I look.

    Please also deactivate the child theme during this time.

    Crap! Well it seems to be one of the plugins though it doesn’t really make much sense. I disabled near everything except for those that are used by the theme itself. I’m sick of looking at the site right at the moment so i’ll start enabling things one at a time and checking for the disappearing menu on the blog page tomorrow when my brain is working.

    Still having sidebar issues with the book store though.

    Thanks

    OK it’s some kind of conflict with the events calendar plugin (https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar/)

    With just the Swift Framework and the events calendar enabled the top menu will disappear when clicking on the tag filter on the blog (Body Of Knowledge) page.

    This is the free version of the events calendar plugin. I don’t have the paid version so I don’t know if the conflict would exist there too.

    So the problem is with the theme or more specifically the Swift Framework. I got the following from the support guy over at theeventscalendar.com

    I saw Line 198 of /wp-content/themes/uplift/swift-framework/core/sf-sidebars.php is

    1
    if ( class_exists( ‘TribeEvents’ ) ) {
    which throws a WP_DEBUG message that says this has been deprecated since version 3.10 and that Tribe__Events__Main should be used instead.

    Therefore, since the theme isn’t updated for our plugins, this is as far as we can go helping toward this issue. Hopefully your theme author/support can assist further here.

    Thanks
    Chuck

    Thanks for reporting this back to us, I’ll pass this back to the team for update. In the meantime, add your FTP details and I will update that class conditional so it works as expected.

    I’m quite ok with making the edit myself or replacing the appropriate PHP file if that’s easier. Attach it here and let me know where it’s supposed to go and i’ll get right on it and report back my findings.

    Thanks

    Just installed swift framework 2.4.16 and the problem is still happening.

    So nothing more on this?

    I looked at the /wp-content/themes/uplift/swift-framework/core/sf-sidebars.php file as of 2.4.16 framework update and noticed the line hadn’t changed. So I manually changed line 198 to be

    if ( class_exists( ‘Tribe__Events__Main’ ) ) {

    Which seemed to do nothing to help the situation. I’ve tried this on a clean local installation and i get the same results as on my hosted site so I’m really at a loss here as to why i’m seeing what i’m seeing.

    Would you mind adding the FTP details?

    – David.
