  Over the past week, my site speed has been EXCRUCIATINGLY slow. I contacted my host (bluehost) and they insist everything is running well on their end. I did a free site speed check and it recommended. “The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime. Specify an expiration at least one week in the future for the following resources:” Many of the files listed are Dante files. is their a way to specify the cache expiration?

  And any other ideas as to why my site might be so slow now?

  I think I resolved it. I added the caching plugin you recommend and it seems faster. Any other suggestions you have would be great.

  I’d recommend using a good host, such as WPEngine. Optimise all images for web, so images are below 100kb. Check you are not serving very large self hosted videos.

  I can see you repeatly load huge images: http://www.dyslexicandunstoppable.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/bg.jpg

  Those are two large and need to be reduced in file size and actual PX size.
