    Hi,

    I am just starting out a new website on a testing server and I was trying to add the language switcher on the right side of the header but for some reason the switcher doesn’t show up! The switcher is there as if you put your cursor the drop down menu appears but the title of the switcher (should be “English”) is invisible.

    Any ideas why this is happening and how I can make it appear?

    I also had 2 questions:

    1) Can I add the language switcher if I use the header number 4?
    2) Can I add the language switcher inside the top header if I enable it? I don’t seem to have the option from the menu.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,

    Just a doubt, do you have WPML installed and configured?
    The Language dropdown will only appear if you have WPML and more than one language.

    Hello,
    I haven’t installed WPML yet however in all other projects that i’ve worked on I didn’t need to install it and there was a demo showing up.
    If I change the header to something else that includes language switcher the language switcher is there but invisible and you can put your cursor on top and see the drop down menu with languages of the demo.

    Thanks

    That’s the demo switcher content, that is available in the demo.
    Can you activate that header to have a look and inspect the code in the browser?

    Hi Rui,

    I have activated header 1 and as you can see it separates an area to the right where you can hover and see the dropdown menu.
    In there there is a div div.aux-item.aux-language but as I said it’s invisible.

    However, what I want to achieve is to keep header 4 but somehow add the language switcher to the top right.
    So my question is:

    1) Can I have language switcher with header 4? Right now I have set header 1 just to show you the problem.
    2) If I can’t use language switcher with header 4 is there a way to add it inside the top bar?

    Thanks

    Add this to your custom css:

    .aux-item.aux-language ul.menu > li.aux-languages > a > span {
      display: block;
    }
