Full width layout on static front page broke with update WP 4.5.3:
    http://www.docklight.de

Subpages, or also the “Test Dante Layout” page still work with the old Dante 2.8.2:
    docklight.de/test-dante-layout/
    docklight.de/how-to-order/

But if I switch/update to Dante to 3.3.1 (and I tried this even earlier once with 3.1.6 or so), I lose the “Full Width” for all subpages and everything appears like “Standard” instead of “Full Width”.

I installed and switched to “Basic” Theme for testing. Then the “Full Width” is ok on both homepage and subpages.

Attached some pictures to illustrate the problem.

I had this discussion last September with the freelancer that made the site, but his repeated claim was “you broke it by editing.”. So we were stuck with Dante V2.8.2, but now with latest WP 4.5.3 the layout finally broke, at least on the homepage.

I bought now a license just for getting any support for this, because the original creator is of no help. Frankly, had I known that WP and all this plugin/themes galore turns out to be such a maintenance nightmare – I wouldn’t have touched it with a stick. But we sort of “went with the flow”, and it creates an insane amount of maintenance work for such a basic web site.

So any insight is much appreciated. The logins are provided for your analysis, but please make sure the docklight.de remains unchanged. We very much depend on it, and I don’t have the time & resources to move this to a separate testing installation.

    Thanks
    Oliver

    Hi,

The best solution is to upgrade to the latest 3.3.2 version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/40f1ubgg8laglq4/dante.zip?dl=0. (Yes, so it will temporarily break the layout) Then we can assist you in looking into this.

    – Initially I cannot replicate this on my dev version. When your freelancer said “you broke it by editing it” – what have you edited?

    Thanks,
    David.

    Hi,

    Thanks for doing that.

Unfortunalty you will need to work partly with your developer as the site has been built not using our page builder. They have chosen to use a 3rd party page builder.

However, I notice your page template was set to default. Changing it to “Full Width Page” did enable the full width mode:

    David,

thanks so much, you found it! This is outstanding customer support.

    Additional remarks:

    – I DID look at the page templates in V2.82 Dante already, but there was no “Full Width” template then, only “Default Template”, “Holding Page”, and “Holding Page (with Copyright)”. See the screenshot. So it would never have crossed my mind to recheck in Dante V3.xx.

    – I very much agree the mix of a Theme from you and a Page Builder from somewhere else is a mess, and is not within the scope of your support. So I very much appreciate that you looked into this nonetheless and found the simple misconfiguration.

I’m absolutely impressed by your level of assistance and will highly recommend your products & services.

    Best regards,
    Oliver
