    Hey!

Since instagram started allowing non-square images the photos look pretty bad in the theme’s instagram module.

Is there an update I can add to make it work? Maybe zoom in and crop to make all images square?

See attached image – the white on both sides of the image.

    Thanks!
    Tim

    Hi

Unfortunately this is outside our control, the images are sent from Instagram with the added whitespace, so there’s nothing we can do on the theme itself

A plugin we use on another site called Instagram Feed successfully made an update to their plugin that fixed this issue and I assumed your team would be making the same changes, because having this feature on the theme seems important and it’s not looking very good at the moment.

I’ll forward to the developer to see if we can do anything about it

    Hi @hnycmb

Can you link us to the page on your site where we can see this? May be able to provide some css.

    Thanks,

Here is the url. Although I haven’t been able to update this client’s version of joyn to the most recent yet, I did test the instagram functionality on another clients site that does have an updated version of joyn. So the problem exists in the newest update as well.

Check this link to see if there is something that can be done:

    Hi @hnycmb

We haven’t made any fixes as of yet – the only solution we had found required users to set up an app on the Instagram developers area, and ideally we don’t want users to have to do that. We’ll keep looking.
